At Elementary Academy Early Learning, we believe that the foundation of quality education begins with the quality of our educators. Every day, our passionate and professional team works together to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can thrive.

Investing in Our Educators: Training, Mentoring, and Professional Growth

Elementary Academy is owned and operated by a qualified early childhood education professional with over 14 years of experience. This leadership ensures that our team receives daily, on-the-floor mentoring and professional guidance—not just management from afar.

Our educators engage in a rich cycle of continuous learning and reflection through:

  • In-person training and workshops focused on current early childhood practices.

  • Regular staff meetings addressing key topics in early education, wellbeing, and safety.

  • Online professional development to support flexible, ongoing growth.

Professional learning covers essential areas such as:

  • Child Safe Standards

  • Early childhood pedagogy and curriculum design

  • Safe attachment and relationship development

  • Supervision and active engagement

  • Risk identification and safety practices

This commitment to professional development ensures that every educator is equipped to uphold the highest standards of care, education, and child safety.

Our philosophy is simple: when educators feel supported, valued, and confident, children benefit most. That’s why our mentoring model focuses not just on skills, but on empathy, communication, and teamwork.

Our Staff-to-Child Ratio Prioritise Safety and Connection

At Elementary Academy, we go beyond meeting the National Quality Framework (NQF) requirements for educator-to-child ratios — we strive to exceed them whenever possible.

The minimum ratio's are as follow:

  • Toddler Room (2–3 years): 1 educator for every 5 children

  • Preschool Rooms (3–5 years): 1 educator for every 10 children

While these ratios already meet regulatory standards, we regularly roster additional educators when possible to enhance supervision and ensure that every child receives meaningful, individual attention.

We understand that parents want to know exactly how many “eyes and ears” are around their child — and rightly so. Our leadership team carefully reviews daily attendance and staffing to make sure each room remains well-supported, even when accounting for staff leave or illness.

Because to us, quality care isn’t about numbers — it’s about presence.

Why Our Approach Matters

High staff-to-child ratios and a strong professional development culture are not just about compliance; they’re about creating a safe learning environment where children are seen, heard, and supported.

Our educators form genuine, trusting relationships with every child, which promotes secure attachments and builds the confidence children need to explore, play, and learn. It’s this commitment to both emotional safety and educational excellence that defines the Elementary Academy difference.

Experience the Difference at Elementary Academy

When families choose Elementary Academy, they’re choosing more than a preschool — they’re choosing a team that places child safety, quality education, and genuine care at the heart of everything we do.
